June is Alzheimer’s and Brain Awareness Month
Exercise and a good diet are essential in maintaining good health. However, the month of June is devoted to shining a spotlight on an often-overlooked part of health, our brain. June is Alzheimer’s and Brain Awareness Month. Over a 100,000 Georgians are currently affected with Alzheimer’s disease. Which cost Medicaid over $1 billion to provide care within Georgia. To fight against Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia the Georgia Department of Human Services is partnering with Emory University to roll out five Memory Assessment Clinics within in the state over the course of 2018 located in Augusta, Atlanta, Macon, Columbus, and Albany.
